I Propose to Designate as "Nymphets"
...The slightly feline outline of a cheekbone, the slenderness of a downy limb, and other indices...the little deadly demon among the wholesome children; she stands unrecognized by them and unconcious herself of her fantastic

Dafne is also seriously considering taking the dragon riding classes, and is a member of the swordplay club.
appearance PB: Dakota Fanning Height: 5’1” Build: Dafne is petite with particularly long arms and legs. Eye Color: Aqua marine (so blue) Hair Color: Blond On the surface Dafne certainly follows through with her deceptively sweet appearance. With a softly featured baby face, wide, innocent, crystalline blue eyes, and long blond hair she can certainly seem to take on the nymphet persona. Beneath her innocent appearance and lurking in her eyes, however, is a world of secrets and a hint of knowing more than she should. Dafne wears her uniform exactly as it’s supposed to be worn, no untucked shirts unbuttoned too far, or rolled up skirts. She doesn’t care about looking sexy or appealing, and only uses the innocent card to get herself out of sticky situations.
personality Strengths: Creative, Cunning, Knowing, Quick-Witted, Engaging Weaknesses: Withdrawn, Cynical, Secretive Weird Quirks: Dafne has a complete silver fox complex, she’s always drawn to guys that are older than her (perhaps because of her age in comparison to humans, and somewhat due to past experiences). In fact, she’s generally drawn to adults over people her own age, which leads her to cultivate relationships with the faculty as much as she does with students. Male teachers beware though. Secrets Dafne’s entire past is her little secret. She doesn’t like to talk about where she came from because the truth is where she came from reveals that she doesn’t really come from anywhere, which makes her incredibly insecure. One of her biggest secrets is where she goes over breaks. Dafne generally makes up some kind of excuse, claiming that she goes back to the orphanage “she came from” when the truth is she either spends her breaks on the streets, hopping from homeless shelter to homeless shelter to homeless shelter, or convinces randomly selected people that they want to house her for an undisclosed length of time—Dafne has been frequently “adopted” by people only to disappear a few months later when school begins again.
On a more teenage level, Dafne has a HUGE secret crush on Professor Adam Winsley that leads her to spend a lot more time on her math class than she would normally. Likes: Silence, Solitude, Classical Music, Surprises, and Deep Relationships Dislikes: Superficiality, Noise, Judgement
Since her arrival at Idris Academy Dafne has been widely recognized by the staff as withdrawn and troubled, and she’s required to meet frequently with the Counselor Adam Hewer because of the survivalist lifestyle she’s been forced to lead in her youth.
She tends toward fatalism, and generally shouldn’t speak to students with high hopes because she’ll rain on their parade with a barrage of depressing anecdotes about life. After 392 years of finding her way on her own she doesn’t have the energy to deal with other people’s problems or feed other people’s dreams. For those who need a good dose of reality she’s perfect, and the truth is if you get to know her Dafne becomes more empathetic over time, knowing exactly when a person needs to just be hugged and told everything is going to be all right.
Cynnical to the core, Dafne is incredibly secretive about not just her life but her activities. While she would like to try out new things, she’s shy of being seen failing, so she very rarely tries. She’s a member of the swordplay club because she’s good at it, sings because she’s good at it, and plays the piano in secret because she’s afraid of what people will say. history Family Residence: Dafne has no home and practically no history when it comes to her family. Some testing has been performed to discover exactly how much faie she is and how mundie, and to the surprise of everyone she turned out to be 100% faie, but no one can figure out who her parents were or where they went. Indeed, Dafne appears to have absolutely no connection to her past except for a secret benefactor no one has been able to track down and who intervenes at particularly random times. Whoever the benefactor is they rarely involve themselves in her life—even the more troubling parts—their major contribution being to set Idris Academy on her trail when she was old enough to attend. Their next major contribution was to ensure her tuition was paid for in full, and while they don’t provide a home for her to go to during her breaks they do strangely provide dresses every time dances come up, or anything of that sort. Consequently, Dafne is a strange combination of neglected and well provided for that often leads to the confusion about where she’s running off to on her breaks. It doesn’t help that she’s particularly convincing when she insists she has a plane ticket to Paris for the summer to “see her Aunt and Uncle.” In the wake of those wide blue eyes and soft voice with a hint of a lisp when she says her s’s confusion ensues and Dafne walks out the door with the rest of the students. Languages: When Dafne first arrived at Idris Academy her English was pointedly poor. She was, and still is, fluent in Italian and proficient in Spanish, and with the help of Professor Boyle has achieved fluency in English with the occasional grammar error and an Italian accent. Father: Technically speaking unknown. It’s a commonly recognized part of Faie lore that several thousand years ago the son of the well recognized Clan Leader Gregorius Maximus’s son Janus disappeared without a trace along with his wife—a famed beauty—Lavinia. Of course, after a time people simply wrote it off as a myth and ceased to speak of it, but Janus is Dafne’s father which is why she’s 100% faie. Because of his early disappearance there is no DNA testing that could link Dafne to him or his wife however, and the Maximus clan now the Agliardi Clan refuse to offer up any of their DNA for testing, which has only furthered speculation concerning who her mysterious benefactor is. Mother: Lavinia Maximus, Faie. Siblings: No known siblings. Other Family: No known family, although again there is enormous speculation about her relation to the Agliardi family, especially as they refuse to go through the DNA testing to prove otherwise. She is generally recognized to share their particularly distinctive shade of blue eyes. And if traced back far enough it can be found that the lawyer in charge of her tuition and day to day contact with Idris Academy eventually—after a long line of other lawyers—links back to the Agliardi family.
Knowledge about Dafne’s formative years is notably spare. Her parents disappeared without a trace, it would appear, and as yet no one has been able to ascertain her family connections to the faie community despite some speculation about relation to the Agliardi clan, and the resurfacing of an age old myth about Janus and Lavinia. Perhaps the most confusing part of Dafne’s past is that she is in fact 100% Faie, which means she was not simply an abandoned mixed breed.
Every couple of years Dafne has changed orphanages due to financial difficulties, bankruptcies, and shut downs on the part of the orphanages themselves. This changing of homes left Dafne with a deep sense of loneliness that five years at Idris Academy has yet to repair. She is notably withdrawn and generally has a difficult time letting herself become involved with people because time has taught her that in two or three years at the most she’ll have to move on to a new place. Even in her fifth year at Idris she frequently mentions in her Counseling sessions that she’ll be leaving soon, or that it’s getting to be that time, and the longer she stays the more she seems to anticipate that move.
The region she spent the most time in is Venice, finally settling down at one orphanage that turned a blind eye to her noticeably stunted development, after the age of ten, because it was an establishment that masqueraded behind the façade of an orphanage. During her time at this final orphanage—Bianchi Escuela—she was taught how to pick-pocket, forge, and engage in any number of illegal activities. Dafne was their most used pick-pocket because in tight situations she was often able to use her good looks and natural charm to weasel her way out of tight spots. Consequently, over the next several hundred years she would spend her youth caught up in stealing, forging, and money laundering, and occasionally teaching other children how to do the same. Because she was still young—despite her human age—it never occurred to Dafne to make a powerplay, and she remained at the bottom of the Venetian crime circuit until the Idris Academy showed up at Bianchi Escuela one day and through an enormous amount of negotiation gained guardianship over Dafne. The only flaw in the whole setup being that since then a much confused Signor Casali has frequently managed to get letters through to her.
Dafne’s relationship with Signor Casali began at a particularly young age for her. He was a well known pedophile and particularly successful art thief, and Bianchi Escuela took advantage of Dafne’s youthful appearance and charm to convince Casali he wanted to hand over several well known art pieces such as the Mona Lisa, recently returned to the Louvre for an obscene amount of money and an absurd story about how they found it under someone’s bed. Casali generally believes himself to still be in love with Dafne, and in past years has attempted to penetrate the grounds of Idris Academy to see her, to varying degrees of success. Security in dealing with Casali has been upped a notch this year, especially since Dafne’s last break was spent with him in his lakeside mansion.
Despite all efforts to discover what happened during that break Dafne has been infuriatingly tight lipped, a perversely innocent smile twitching at the corners of her lips whenever Hewer gets close to guessing what it is that went on.
While in the past Michelle Wainwright has often been the one sent to retrieve Dafne from such scrapes as being picked up by the Venetian Police for pick-pocketing—because it has been suggested that male interaction might set her off—the person to retrieve her from Casali’s home was Professor Seregil Marston because it seemed like an inappropriate assignment for a woman. What he found there even Professor Marston was reluctant to discuss, admitting that she was badly beaten, presumably because she hit fifteen physically and mentally, and Casali found this to be a turnoff.
Overall, Dafne’s life has been one of insecurity, frequent upheaval, and general unhappiness, and while her time at Idris has certainly been idyllic in comparison the past has taught Dafne that there’s always a disappointment in the future, and it’s better to keep reminding herself of that than to let them program her into believing in a false dream. Thus, she keeps returning to the familiar, and what is comfortable for her despite what other people might think of it. That look of knowing that people frequently catch in her eyes has come at the cost of a childhood lost and 293 years of abuse.
